Get back up!

Sometimes the biggest mistake we make is in thinking that we should have no problems. We think problems are a curse, instead of knowing that our problems are a gift. The only way we usually grow is if we get a good enough problem to stimulate us to use our resourcefulness to find a part of our
self that is not being used.

Here is an extraordinary example of a man who chooses to view his “problems” as gifts, and a resource to show the world that there are no limitations to what we can do.

I hope you will be inspired.

60 Comments to Get back up!

  1. Hi Tony! I saw you the other day - I was at Starbucks - we made eye contact… Thanks soooooo much for your help from afar… I wanted to chat, but you were on personal time, so I respected the boundary.

I’ve been a pro drummer for almost 20 years, and 2 years ago I broke my arm badly on Venice beach. It was all I could do to continue asking the question that you shared: “What’s GREAT about this?” It was that question that has helped me (and I’m certain a great number of us) through that and my other challenges. It has made ALL the difference.

So keep on Keeping on, coach. Get some rest :) And please let me know if you want to trade drum lessons for help finding a new Primary Question!

  3. An unintentional mistake can be a change of course for one, who takes it as a good learning oppertunity and does not repeat it.

I think every problems has a solution, we have to investigate the circumstances of problem to find the solution.

Whatever happens, no matter how bad it gets, you always have a choice of how to react to them. Those choices will determine your level of happiness in life.

  25. Thank you so much for posting this. It’s just the slap across my inspiration (as) back that I need ..right at this very moment. I was feeling down and low today. I’ve been trying to launch a new training and development business for months. It’s going slow and the results are far and away from my intentions. I know that deep down inside me I must continue to fight and make this happen. Its’ inside me and I want to share it with the world. When I watch this video it says, WAKE UP and MOVE!!

A true illustration of the fact that problems can never really be bigger than us. Where there is a will, there is a way…Its all about keeping the “SPARK” alive… and to “BE ALIVE”…

He reflects the greatest beauty that lives within the Spirit of all of us. Each of us has this inside, only as Joe, we must release it to the world. 41. Tony, someday you took actions and transformed the existence of a lot people, because those ones believed and took actions too. My life is getting better and with calm steps feeling fullfilment. My english is not good, but (I don’t know if you really read our comments) I know how your book “Unlimited Power” and “The Time Line Therapy and The Basis of Personality” from Tad James & Wyatt Woodsmall are doing the diference in my life. Step by step I’m reaching and seeing what matters. This comment is just to thank you, because one day in your life, you walked to another direction and was very honest doing the “right thing”. I like to call you my old brother to people that don’t know you here in Brazil. God Bless you and your family. Hugs.

  45. Tony,

You say that the unstoppable driving force within us awakens when we face either inspiration or desperation.

In my case, it was desperation. I’ll never forget the day I returned home from an operation. I just could not understand why all these terrible things had happened to me and as you say, our mind will come up with an answer for anything regardless whether it makes sense or not. I went into a state of complete depression for several months.

One day, my pattern was interrupted when I saw this crazy guy speak on a stage in front of some of the most influential and innovative people in the world. Of course, I am referring to your TEDtalk. Your ideas, beliefs and passion for life inspired me. The next day, I purchased Awaken the Giant Within — it was everything I expected and much, much more. With your help, I have made some massive changes in my life, and for that I can’t thank you enough.

But once again I’m faced with not challenges, but opportunities to grow. Unfortunately, no matter how many times I’ve changed my approach – I’m still not getting my desired result. Even with your technologies, I’ve just been running into a brick wall.

“Ask and You Shall Receive”- While I know you are extremely busy, at the same time, I know you can’t stand to see people suffer. If I could have the opportunity to send you just one email, I could not even express in words how much I would appreciate it.

  49. Tony,

I have personally met Nick about a year ago, when he came to my church. This guy has a huge heart, the children love him and are truly inspired. I have his DVD that I would love to send to you. I bought 5 of them and give them away to people when they are focusing in the wrong direction. His DVD changes their entire focus NOW. BY the way I also have his “Nick” manager’s # maybe you would could do and interview with him. I believe he lives right here in CA. I can connect you both and would be happy to help in anyway.

By the way Like you, I am personal friends with JM3 (Joseph) and Mike K., William Martin and I have worked with you at many events including UPW, DWD, LM, P.P. and most of all I am friends with you. TR

  59. Sometimes we need reminders like this to realize how capable and adaptable we are as individuals. I’ve seen alot of Nick Vujicic’s videos and his website lately and it’s real facinating and such a mind opener. After seeing his videos I actually wish I could live a week without arms, without legs, and bring it back into prospective that there is no logical excuse behind any reason I feel I can’t do something or that something is too difficult to try.

I don’t just hope and pray but also expect that someday we will meet.

  61. Wow… I just finished one of your book ( translated in french) and reading the last page of the book, I felt so empty ( I was crying as if a friend was leaving for a long long time)So I decided to look on the net to see what I could find, I did not feel I was ready to go by myself and still feel I needed support. Watching this video made me realized how lucky I was and push me to go further in helping others to take the right decision to direct their lives in a more positive way. I think I found theway not to feel alone in this process by sharing what I just learned from you.

Thank you, thank you thank you…

and one of my next goal will be to assist one of your seminar,,, see you there!

  73. Dear Tony.
I hope you don’t mind but I have a suggestion I was wondering whether you might consideration.

I remember what you said about ‘rituals’ in one of your seminar videos ‘Power of Questions’.

Your rituals are the little things you do every single day, the stuff that you never miss, the staples on which you live your life. It is the part of the practice, which establishes longevity!

I don’t know if anyone else ever feels the same but sometimes it is easy to become a little overwhelmed with the practices of the philosophy and how to choose what to apply and when though-out ones day, making sure that you are not missing anything out!

I was thinking maybe you could emphasize on the simplification of the philosophy through the ‘daily rituals.’

I would love to see a short video of a typical day in the life of Tony Robbins, giving the viewer something very real to relate to and measure their own daily activity on.
It would be great to see how you actually divide your time up and in which of your own circumstances you apply each of your fantastic strategies. This would be a small insight behind the scenes!

I know your philosophy by now is ingrained in your body and that you more than lightly do everything automatically. It would though, be amazing to see your practices consciously kick in right ‘in the moment,’ being able to see yourself functioning and adapting to your daily surroundings.

    Thanks for everything.

    My very kindest regards,

  74. Josh Jared on April 14th, 2009
  75. Hi Tony,

I cried like a baby watching your video, believe me when I tell uuu it was not out of pity! I cried b/c I have been on the pity pot, unintentionally, for approximately 10-12 yrs now! My fiance, my daughter Kaitlyns father, was killed in a car accident 12 yrs and 5 months ago,at the age of 21, I was suddenly a young, single mother! The fact that I was never going to see him again, EVER, left me feeling so empty, lost, angry, scared and sad feeling and for me that was just the opposite of who I always was. I was no longer that energetic, fun, outgoing, athletic girl everyone enjoyed to be around. I’ve even been told I am “infectious”
The pain killers made me stop thinking about Scott all together and stop wishing he were here and wondering what it would’ve and could’ve been like if he were still alive! I see now that I was slowly but surely dying inside, without even realizing the fact that the pain killers I began taking for “fun” became my life line b/c thinking back about my life and the things I had done, yet never would’ve even remotely considered doing had I not become addicted to the point of becoming blind to all the good things I had in my life and still have today. I couldn’t ask for more loving, understanding and forgiving family and friends than what I have in my life. So thankyou for showing me that no matter how bad things can get, there is hope, you just have to find it within yourself. Have you heard “The Climb” by Miley Syrus? That song helps me remember that , yeah, I dug this hole but I can also dig myself out. That song says it all for me b/c I have no where to go but up!

  81. Hello Tony,

I have watched this video many times and have managed to get emotioned each one of the times. Very inspiring. Thanks for posting it.

I have a question for you. I will be turning 50, later this year and my wife wants to give me a special gift and has asked me to select. I have selected a Tony Robbins seminar. We will be travelling from Spain, specially for the event. It would the first of its kind in my life. I have purchased some of your programmes and am asking for a recomendation from you. Which seminar would you suggest and what would the dates be. It would be around october-november, this year. Once you give me this information, I will contact your office for further details. Thanks for your help and looking forward to see you live, soon.

    best regards from Spain

  89. Hello Tony - I really love your stuff! Every time I stray from my path I come back to your programs and get a shot of momentum. Thank you.

I am not sure if you read these or respond, but for a person with mastery of your emotions and strategies, what process did you go through with your divorce? At what point did you decide that you couldn’t change your actions enough to affect your wife’s reaction/actions?

I know this is a personal experience, but I really think that sharing this information from someone who is at your level would help us at any level. I know that you have the Relationship program, but this doesn’t go into much of what YOU experienced.

    Thanks for your inspiration!

I have seen this video and it inspires me time and time again. thank you for posting it. — I agree with you that we can all learn to move past our problems. The wonderful gift of the problem is being able to see the problem as a solution and way to advance ourselves.

I’d be curious and interested in what you think of this link below. Being that you promote mastery over oneself and one’s fear.
