  7. There are some great points made in the audio about the importance of focus.
What you focus on in any situation will create the meaning of the event which in turn effects the way you feel and behave.

  45. It’s certainly true - your thoughts do create your life and the question, “Why?” is amazingly powerful.

I remember going to a seminar once about autism where we were all paired up. Each of us had to reveal something which was troubling us and the other person had to trty to resolve it by asking asking that one word - “Why?”

It proved the answers are usually inside of us. It was very liberating.

  47. Tony,

Another beautiful gift. I really appreciate how you paint a word picture to grab onto and apply to our lives. What if we realized we all had the same potential? What if we knew the true power of our thoughts and feelings? What if we made the choice right now to be the directors of our life?

My 11 year old grandson, Gabriel loves to read, so I told him a bit about your childhood and you have written books, he told me he would like one for Christmas, I just do not know which one to buy him. His childhood is a bit tough and I think reading a book by you will help him more than reading books on Vampires. Thank you and I await your response with great anticipation.

  65. Very inspiring message. A good reminder to all of us of some basic, but powerful principles that if we can remember to put to use, we can experience more joy and pleasure in our present realities. It really is up to US to choose what we focus on, so everything then becomes our responsibility, I commend those of you who are committed to giving yourself more so that you can give of yourself more. 69. Thanks, Tony! I have been working on too many projects that seem to have all culminated at once. Each one tugging at me for attention and completion. This post was a great reminder to focus on one project at a time until I can’t proceed (waiting for someone else) and then move on to the next (which I can control). This was a great help. I am going to accomplish a lot today. I think you may have helped me experience an epiphony (breakthrough) on one of these projects that I have been stuck on. Thank you for your thought provoking questions.

  71. Hi Tony,

Thanks for sharing this simple concept. Yes it’s simple, but also difficult. As a business owner and father of four, I constantly work on keeping a focused mind on whatever the task at hand is at that moment. In my case, it’s easy to focus on work and more difficult to transfer complete focus to family time activities. I feel it’s very important to focus on giving and actively participating without distractions…my family deserves it and my clients deserve it.

    Best Regards,
    Kory

  81. What a Great Reminder!

    Focus = Feeling
Change your focus. Change your life.
The difference between happiness and misery is FOCUS!

    Meaning = Reality
The meaning you assign things is based on what you focus on and determines your reality.

    The Lesson:
TAKE CONTROL OF YOUR FOCUS AND THE MEANING YOU ASSIGN THINGS. In other words: DECIDE!

Your focus and the meaning you create will determine the ACTIONS you take (and DECISIONS you make) and thus contribute to your success.

  87. Wow, what a powerful “aha” I had listening to this. As a powerful lady I had been programmed with “you are manipulative” and I now see it that I had the power to influence and people responded to it to better their life. Those who did not want to take it up called it “manipulation”.

Excellent teaching as usual - you always overdeliver & you’re an inspirational teacher / coach (I’d say motivator but I know you hate that description of yourself!)

  121. I was traumatized last year when a seasonal worker for Walmart was trampled to death on Black Friday. In an uncontrolled frenzy Black Friday shoppers broke open the front door of Walmart knocking down a 34 year old man, they then trampled him to death. http://www.nydailynews.com/ny_local/2008/11/28/2008-11-28_wdies_at_lorker_ong_island_walmart_after.html

I feel the money changers have taken over Christmas. One of the worst days for domestic violence is on Christmas. http://www.idahofallsidaho.gov/index2.asp?PageId=492

And for what? Why was this man killed? Why are fathers broken down to the point of violence against the ones they love? For mass produced goods? The marketers have won and Christmas has lost.

I have resolved, to redefine Christmas. I’ve found out, I am not a lone. redefine-christmas.org
The Christmas I want is full of bell shaped cookies, lights around the house, mistletoe, eggnog, Christmas carols, and lighted up Christmas trees.

But presents? I say no more. Underneath my tree will be envelopes with gift certificates to Kiva.org. It’s a little extreme but I say it is completely in line for what capitalism has done to Christmas. Don’t get me wrong, capitalism is efficient and useful, but sometimes it does not know when to stop.

Will my wife be upset again, like last Christmas? Maybe. But I feel the dangers of a “me first” society and a society focused on mass produced garbage over family and friends has become a greater threat.

When you’re standing in that endless line with a cart full of mass produced goods, ask yourself, is it worth it? Let us take back Christmas. Let us be like the Three Wise Men and send our gifts to distant lands to people who are truly in need. Check out Kiva.org. Let us give gifts without the expectation of something in return. Let us enjoy the true meaning of Christmas.

  135. So much wisdom here Tony. I especially love what you say about decisions shaping our destiny, not conditions. I work with parents and I know many of them believe that if they put their kids in the right schools, buy them all the latest stuff, ensure they get good marks, give them lessons in as many things as possible…..they’ll succeed in life. I’m always fascinated how people can thrive and excel in so many areas of their life, despite the very adverse conditions they grew up in. Conversely, as you say, there are people who have been given all the advantages and stay stuck or choose a destructive path.

  171. Although I too believe that the majority of the people on this planet are stuck emotionally in some way, shape, or form….I think there is something that has not been spoken about. Why do 1 percent of the population control 99 percent of the money on this planet? What are the contributing factors that stop someone from doing something even when they are shown how to do an action? I believe that there is an element that has been labelled “learned helplessness.” As children we are taught not to expect to much out of life and have the notion of fitting in, being normal, is the best thing that one can achieve in life. The majority of the population subscribes to this life philosophy, hence the acceptance that one is helpless to change one’s life because it would go against family teachings. You are right that this is an internal state but there must be something going on when in every culture around the world, in every country, in every city, that 99 percent of the world’s population is limited in some way to take the action that would change their lives. I believe that it is learned helplessness…..what makes you so much more special than your parents when they have taught you that success is having a small house in the suburbs somewhere, working until 5 and retiring at 55. Messages like these are the bricks that form the wall that keep 99% of the population inside the yard and looking over the fence to a world filled with possibilities.

I have a question - and I have bought a number of your tapes and am thrilled with them - DO YOU HAVE THE FEARS THAT WE HAVE (YOU MUST HAVE - IT SEEMS THAT SOMEONE WHO IS AS SUCESSFUL AS YOU ARE WOULD NOT BE AFRAID?? - BUT YOU OVERCAME THEM?? Fear IS THE THE ISSUE!!)

  227. Tony, thanks for this info on Breakthroughs! You’ve put into words what I’m going through at this very moment. I reached my Emotional Threshold in October 2009 and I now realize exactly what needs to change in my life, as I’ve reached a point where it’s no longer acceptable continue doing what I’ve always done. I finally see options that I’ve been blind to; I guess I wasn’t ready to see them until now. You helped me make dramatic changes in my life 13 years ago, and I know without a doubt that I can do it again. I’m excited to see where I’ll be at my 6-month and 1-year deadlines.

  233. Hi, Tony:
I think fear and believe in people’s mind are the biggest enemies in breakthrough in their life. I think most of the people know what’s right, what’s should be done and what’s the correct mindset. But when comes to take action, they start starts to have doubt on whether it will work on them. I think this is a common problem that most people have, including me. I totally agreed on what you said that decision equal to destiny. What you are now is due to what you did and decided before or in the past. After living in the world for 30 over years, I started to realize that to actually succeed in what you want is simple theory, but not easy to do. Get the knowledge, plan, follow through and persistence. The problem is that how to stay persistent and focus, and filter out all the naysayers, that’s the hard part for people. People can stay motivated for one month and then give up after that. So, I think what we need to do is we need to talk to ourselves, hynoptize ourselves everyday and night. This is something like an exercise for you mind. Sometimes I really think that stubborn people tends to get successful more easily. The other thing I think is important is that to do not think like the masses. We need to always challenges what people normally do and think. Only by this way that you can see new opportunities. I think this applies to investment totally. I always tell people that when you are in comfort zone, then you better becareful, you will tend to get “lazy” on many things easily, you always pick the easiest paths/ways to do something. But life always got ups and downs where downs time is what breaks someone. So always be prepared for bad times, we must always have backup plan for ourselves.

Thanks for the audio, Tony. I always enjoy listening your speech. You show us how to speak passionately to influence people.

  297. Tony, thanks for your tireless crusade against misery and pain. I have been a student of your work for a few years now. I think it would be beneficial if you would tackle the issue of depression a little more directly. There are moments in my life when nothing seems to work, when it feels like my mind has been completely hijacked and I physically lack the capacity to employ focus to my advantage. I definitely believe not everyone has equally extreme lows, or equal ability to come out of a spin, to use a phrase you’ve mentioned in a past program (Time of Your Life?). I certainly think your philosophy is the most empowering one regarding depression, and I know a pill won’t do almost anything real, but at the same time, it might be productive for a LOT of people to develop tools that deal with this condition directly so they can make even faster progress in the most difficult times.

It is so crucial to make the proactive decision because if you don’t you fall behind, slide into the shadows where no one can see or hear you.

  319. Tony, you are amazing.

As a direct result of listening to this audio I have made a decision that is seriously going to affect the quality of my life.

My life is challenging right now, my sister is in hospital right now with cancer and she is in a great deal of pain.

Despite 17 yrs studying your work I had allowed myself to get into overwhelm. But just listening to this audio this morning made me stop and think. I remembered your tape on transformational vocabulary & how the words we use affect the way we feel. And you saying ‘is this the end or the beginning’ caused me to dig deep & find a way to transform my thinking patterns.

It would be easy to think right now that this is the end but I asked myself, ‘what am I most passionate about in life?’ and the answer came - ‘personal & spirtitual growth’ therefore I came up with the idea that, instead of seeing what is happening as an overwhelming time of despair & helplessness, that I would now call any moment I feel that I cannot cope an EPASGM - Exiting Personal and Spiritual Growth Moment (I have just realised how close to orgasm that sounds! Yoo hoo!!!). Using that language changes my focus because I am inspired by growth & the bigger the challenge the bigger the growth.

I now feel so much stronger & I know that whatever the outcome with my sisiter, that not only will I be able to handle it, but that I will have had the opportunity to discover even more of myself and that I will focus on what’s great in my life & believe me I have a million things to be grateful for.

So I just want to thank you from the bottom of my heart. This is not the first time that you have helped me through a challenging time. There are no words that can convey my gratitude. All I can do is try to give some of your gifts back to the world.

Thank you Tony, God Bless You.

This all resonates with what I’ve started teaching myself, a program that shows guys how to live the life of their big screen heroes.

I heard a recent interview you had with Eben Pagan, and I was blown away.

I’ve been a long time fan of your teaching, and consider you a mentor.

You are now as you have been since the days of the PP infomercials.
